La France Twin Tube Gas System

The La France Twin Tube Gas System is a unique system designed to reduce the cyclic rate in carbine versions of the AR15/M16 rifle, both in semi and full-auto. It will reduce the cyclic rate of these weapons in the full-auto mode from well over 1300 rpm to only 800 rpm, regardless of barrel length. In a semi-auto rifle, the twin tube gas system slows the operation of the action enough to promote greater component longevity and increased accuracy.

The La France gas system achieves this reduction through a unique transfer block and twin tube design. It has been engineered and designed and tested to replace the original short gas tube with a minimum of labor. Furthermore, the twin tube gas system is fabricated from quality materials to be both light in weight and highly durable.

By slowing down the cyclic rate of fire with the twin tube gas system, the following advantages are claimed:

  • Slower unlock time allows for the bullet to completely exit the muzzle before the unlock impulse can affect the sight picture

  • Delay in unlock time allows for a slight pressure drop in the gas pressure thus reducing wear on the bolt head and internal barrel lugs and more reliable extraction

These advantages promote greater accuracy and prolonged weapon component life. The twin tube gas system has no adverse affects on the bullet's energy, accuracy, or velocity. It also requires no user maintenance once installed.

Installation
The gas system fits in place of the existing gas tube. Installation requires removal of the front sight base, and the roll pin holding the gas tube in place. In addition, two precautions need to be taken for installation:

  1. The size of the gas port drilled in the barrel must be determined and corrected to insure proper gas volume
  2. Barrel nut must be secured tightly to the upper and the gas tube aligned perfectly to avoid binding and misalignment with the key in the bolt carrier.

The La France Twin Tube Gas System fits under CAR-15 length hand guards only. It will fit any barrel up to .930" in diameter.

Stainless steel tube and manifold is 9 3/4 (24.7cm) long. Includes complete instructions and a lifetime guarantee; if product fails for any reason except for abuse or negligence, it will be replaced or repaired at no cost to the original owner. Price is listed at $199.00
